About UME
On 02 October 1998, the history of this institution emerged as educational center providing Associate Degree under the official name, Battambang High Education Center (BHEC). In July 2000, this center changed its face to become the Institute of Management and Economics (IME) under the sub-degree No. 43 of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. Then in 2005, it marked a tremendous transformation to become the University of Management and Economics (UME) under the sub-degree No. 25 of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport signed by Prime Minister Hun Sen.
Located in the heart of Battambang province, Cambodia, UME is the first private institution established in this province. It is a dynamic and successful university of high education with history of academic excellence and national reputation of high quality teaching. The reasons are because at UME, the importance of academic, social and practical aspects are very well balanced via excellence study program, highly qualified lecturers, and modern facilities, nurturing learning environment, well-known guest speakers, and professional internship.
Currently, UME is training 3879 students in six provinces in various specialties ranking from Associate Degree to Master Degree. Every year, UME has given around 150 scholarships to poor and needed students to gain higher education.

Besides, the foundation year programs are accredited by Accreditation Committee of Cambodia. -::-
Quality Assurance

-::- University of Management and Economics' programs of study are regularly reviewed and subjected to rigorous quality assurance controls. The quality assurance program at the University involves personnel and process internally. There is a committee made for internal moderation of examination and assessment. Besides, student feedback survey on the environment, facilities, orientation process, teaching, and learning experience at the University. Moreover, University of Management and Economics' lecturers are carefully chosen. They all possess strong command of English, extensive experience in the field of teaching, and at least Master Degree level. Our lecturers are very friendly and quality oriented. -::-
