We appreciate that one of the most important reasons for doing a degree is to increase your employability, and the University of Management and Economics has a dedicated coordinator who focuses on promoting and enhancing your employers to ensure that our programmes and nodules equip students with skills that they value most highly, coordinating work placements, arranging careers events and ensuring that students take full advantage of the careers and employability advice and guidance available at the University.
Work experience is important to employers as a way of distinguishing excellent applicants from those that are good. To gain work experience, you may choose to undertake part-time, although we would recommend that this is limited to no more than 20 hours per week, means that students are allowed to work half day for each weekday. Each semester vacation, Academic Department has requested many firms for 3 month-internships, which allow students to find out about work in a particular industry and organization. These internships often lead to graduate recruitment, and are highly recommended. Additionally, students are able to between the second and final years of their programme. This is a popular option and increasing numbers of employers contact us each year with placement offers.
